There’s something quietly devastating about the moment you wake up after Act 1 of Cyberpunk 2077. You think you’re just picking up where you left off—new day, new mission.
That morning after?
That’s when the real weight of Night City starts pressing in. This episode of The Corpo and Streetkid was about slowing down and soaking at that moment because, honestly? It changes everything.
Brian and I explored V's initial steps into the open world—the significance of their apartment, the haunting details that might go unnoticed, and the energy shift as soon as you open your door. We also discussed the implications of having characters like Jackie, Misty, and Vik greet you at that threshold.

These three aren’t just early NPCs—they’re the foundation of V’s emotional landscape. Jackie embodies loyal optimism, Misty offers grounding spirituality, and Vic exemplifies quiet, unwavering care. Each of them provides something genuine in a city filled with illusions.
Then there’s Dexter DeShawn.
Your first meeting with Dex is complicated. We unpacked that gut feeling of distrust you get right from the start—the slick talk, the cigar, the “big fixer energy.”
Is he giving you your big break or just setting you up? How strange is it that the whole situation feels like a job interview for which you didn’t apply?

What I loved most in this conversation was how we explored the contrast between those who genuinely care for V—like Vic, who seeds that first doubt about Dex’s motives—and the many, many people in Night City who only see you as a means to an end.
This episode was more than a breakdown of mechanics or quests (though yes, we name-dropped The Ripperdoc and The Ride). It reflected on that pivotal shift from tutorial to actual gameplay—from passive observer to active participant in a world that doesn’t care if you make it out alive.
