I'm Sorry, Miss Parker, Are You For Real?

This week on The Corpo and Streetkid, we took a deep dive into one of Night City’s most polarizing characters—Evelyn Parker. Meeting her at Lizzie’s Bar starts a complex chain of events.

Liz and I had a lot to say about her manipulative charm, Judy Álvarez’s emotional vulnerability, and the consequences of double-crossing someone like Dex.
From my perspective, Evelyn never sat right with me. She tries to wield this performative power—strutting into the room in her fur-lined coat, dismissing Mateo as if she owns the place, and laying out the job details as though she’s in control. But the thing is, she’s not.

She’s a player, yes, but more a pawn than a queen. Everyone who views her as important? They either want something from her or are under her spell—especially Judy.
Meeting Judy in the braindance den presented a stark contrast. While Evelyn manipulates people, Judy wears her heart on her sleeve—even if she initially hides behind a tough exterior.

You can feel the weight of their history the moment they lock eyes. There’s pain, trust lost, and Judy’s silent plea not to let this turn into another Evelyn disaster.
And then there’s the big betrayal bomb Evelyn drops: “How about we cut Dex out?” My first thought—Are you out of your damn mind? In Night City, screwing over a fixer is a death sentence.
Evelyn pitches it like a clever power move but reeks of desperation and ego. And let’s be real—if she’s willing to stab Dex in the back, why wouldn’t she do the same to V?
This episode was about trust, illusion, and survival, not just breaking down questlines from The Pickup and The Information. Evelyn might shine in the spotlight, but it’s Judy—flawed, loyal, human—who stays with you.
If there’s one thing I walked away from this episode with, it’s this: in Night City, loyalty might be rare, but it’s the only thing worth holding onto.
Catch us next week as we roll into the Afterlife—literally.
