There are moments in Cyberpunk 2077 when everything shifts. This episode of The Corpo and the Streetkid is one of those moments—for the game and, honestly, for us as players.

After the chaos of the heist and the abrupt betrayal by Dex, V wakes up in a junkyard, literally clawing their way out from under a pile of metal and death. It’s grim. It’s gritty. It sets the tone for everything to come.

Brian and I dive deep into that jarring reawakening—the moment V’s body reboots like some busted piece of tech and reality itself begins to fracture.

You can feel the weight of every motion and every breath V takes as they crawl toward survival, only to be greeted by the last face they’d ever want to see: Dex.

Right behind him? Goro Takemura. Who disposes of Dex right after he leads Goro to you?

Welcome to your new life, V.

From there, it’s a whirlwind. As we observe Takemura and V, a high-speed escape, vicious Arasaka hunters, and a crash course in trust issues form the most fragile alliances.

Then, we find ourselves on the operating table with Viktor. Oh, Vik. The way he delivers the news—that V is dying and that Johnny Silverhand’s engram is slowly overtaking their mind—is both clinical and heartbreaking. It’s one of the most emotionally raw moments in the game, and Brian and I didn’t hold back unpacking that.

We also talk about Misty, who once again shines as the quiet strength in the storm. Her presence is soft but never weak, and she arms V not just with blockers and talismans but with emotional clarity in a world that’s falling apart.

Then… Johnny. We get our first objective, chaotic interaction with him. Let’s say he doesn’t exactly make a good first impression. This is when the real battle begins—not against Arasaka, but for control of V’s body, mind, and identity.

Act 2 begins with a quiet moment in the shower, but the tension is palpable. V’s world has cracked wide open, and nothing will be the same.

Next week, we’re heading back to Watson now that the city has opened up. Gigs, psychos, and maybe a little peace—if that even exists in Night City.
